Bromsgrove Beer Festival 2009

A record number of visitors attended Finstall Park, home of Bromsgrove Rugby football Club to attend the 7th Bromsgrove Beer Festival organised by volunteer members of Redditch & Bromsgrove CAMRA.

Festival Organiser Charlie Ayres said, “Festivals like these do not happen overnight, without the support of the festival committee who have worked tirelessly over the last 10 months Bromsgrove Beer Festival would not be the success it is. We look forward to seeing you at the Redditch Winter ale Festival in January 2010.”

  • Such was the demand that extra cider and beer had to be transported in to keep pace with demand.
The cider and perry bar ran out at 9pm on the Saturday but once again there was a good selection of beer right until last orders were called.

  • Despite the changeable weather over over 2100 people visited

  • 55 new CAMRA members signed up

  • The visitors choice for the beer of the festival was Weatheroak Hill Brewery’s Weatheroak Hill IPA, with Burton Bridge Stairway to Heaven second and Salamander Porcupine third.

  • In the cider and perry category Tardebigge cider was voted as the favorite cider with Moore Brothers perry and Hecks Port Wine cider tying for second place

  • West Midlands Beer of the Year Golden Ales category
    1st Salopian Shropshire Gold
    2nd Holdens Golden Glow
    3rd Ludlow Gold

  • Visitors donated over £240 in unused tokens to support the festival charity ‘Where Next?’
